If you are using the Rodeo distributor internals (base plate, advance weights / springs, etc.) then you are experiencing a lack of advance 'overall'.

Are you 'sure' you don't have an intake manifold leak? Have you run water around the manifold while the engine is running? Also, check your tappets.... |
