The weakest point of a gemini diff I have found is the pin that holds the carrier shaft in place, often fast or rought launches, roll backs, will break this little pin and then the carrier shaft is able to float and hit the pinion and then the diff is dead. Hmmm another $50 and 2 hrs work changing the whole unit over....
Solution:
Depending on buget and your gemini's HP,
1, next time before fitting the diff, locate the little hollow pin that holds the carrier shaft in place and put the thickest split pin in the middle of it,
2, OR, remove the pin tap a thread and fit a high tensile bolt with locktight.
3,
spend a shit load and upgrade to a really tough diff.
Piazza diff's suffer from the same problem.
Cheers
