drivin my car last night i lost first gear. Every now and again it would start working and at one point first was in the neutral position. I stopped at one point and went to take off and it wouldnt go into any of the gears except for 5th and reverse. So now I drove home in reverse got pulled over by the cops on my street (was very funny) and now I only have 5th and reverse. What would have happened to my gear box for this to happen?
Cheers

i dont know much about gear boxes but im presuming that a clip has broken resulting in gears sliding back and forward.
if you have a gregorys manual have a look in there and youll see what i mean about the clip
cheers
