I doubt jetting alone will make you car not run except if its WAY out I guess. Here are some ballpark figures of what sort of jets you would need, they should be within 1 or 2 sizes of this.
Main Jets: 125
Emulsion Tubes: F9
Air Correction Jets: 180
Idle Jets: 40/45
I found also that if I had my air bypasses closed all the way I couldnt even get 5 metres up the road without a backfire. Close them all the way and then turn them out about 3 turns, the more you use the better it will idle but you lose driving power. so I set them just before you can hear them starting to suck loud (I dunno what the proper settings should be).
Oh and do you have the plug leads on in the right order?? coz that causes major backfiring if you have 2 of them switched around.
