can i run my fuel pump straight from any power? like whn the ignition is on? or will that cause me problems?

works fine, mine comes on with the ignition

thanks man. that puts my mind at eae. no i just need to fix this damn clutch cable and my gem is good to go.

but you should have some wires in the boot that are with the fuel sender wires, i think thats what they are for, but mine has like 2.5 volts from each so i ran a new wire up..

nah. my coupe has had most its wiring replaced with tg stuff. hence there isnt everything left for the electric fuel pump, but i think i found where it was suposed to come from so i will run a new line from there.

as far as I know the standard fuel pump runs on 7V when you run 12V to it it will shortern the life span of the fuel pump, but make it work harder pumping more fuel. it should still last a fair while tho and being a submerged in tank pump the fuel should adequatly cool the pump.

so if i run a external pump off the fuel pump line it will turn the pump at 7v not 12v? is there a resistor that drops the voltage down?

yeah there is a resistor but fuck knows where it is, i could see it in the wiring diagram but couldnt find it on the car Sad
