Whats the difference between the import Piazza motors and the aussie ones. How come the imports have more power? What was changed? Also does the piazza have an electronic boost controller as stock and if so is it adjustable? Thanx |

Well from what i've read, the aussie motor has 7.9:1 compression ratio where jap has 8.2:1, and I suppose the ignition timing may be different to suit different fuels, since jap has 100? octane and aussie version is tuned to run on 92..
It has a electronically controlled mechanical boost controller and it's not adjustable unless you can reprogram it's computer. |

Just a note that the early pizzas imports from japan (isuzu piazza) were a 2L twin cam n/a engine. Otherwise known as a g200 dohc or g200w. |

So if its an electronically controlled mechanical boost controller and its not possible to change the amount of boost then whats the point of having it. Does the computer change the amount of boost whilst driving or whats the story? |

It's a cable attached to the wastegate flap with a stepper motor on the other end.. It'd probably be set up to hold the wastegate shut until it's needed, to eliminate wastegate creep, rather than having it gradually open.. I'm not sure since mine never worked |
