Exhuast temps can reach 1000degrees and aluminium has a melting point of about 660deg C. So Id say that it wouldnt last very long. |

the alloy will distort not melt depending on what grade u use, stell will keep a seal better and support the turbos weight easier |

melting point is more closer to 400 and will just pretty much melt and fall off, blow off and dosent even change colour like mild steal dose (glows red)then again some grades melting points can go up to 600 but are not very common but still no good |

The melting points for Aluminium alloys ranges from 475 to 645deg Celcuis. And thats for the solidus melting point. And there are only 4 with solidus melting points below 580C, and they are not commonly avaiable Al alloys.
Aluminium alloys will go red when very hot. If you have ever looked at a hot turbo at night the compressor cover will glow VERY red. |

If you have an angle grinder then it should be piss easy. Just buy several bends and straight pieces. Cut them into pieces that fit and head to a common point. And either join it yourself. Or tack it and take it to an exhaust shop. Ive even seen people use masking tape to hold it all together and then take it to be welded. |

ok i was told and have used the most common used al alloy 5005 series well in general fab at least and i know for a fact that even when heated up with the oxy that i dosent change colour just becomes unstable then just melts off maybe some of the 6000 series wight? but not saying that in its molten state that it cant change colour just by that time most of it would be on the floor in a big puddel on a turbo manifold wel atleast we aggree on one thing IT WONT WORK!!!!!!! |

petrol engine exhaust temps are more like 1300 degrees
so alloy will melt. |

Fair enough. Al 5005 will stay solid upto 630C and is a liquid at 655C. It may not change colour before its molten but other Al alloys will. ie. whatever turbo compressor covers are made of.
Oh yeah, IT WONT WORK!!! haha |
