about a year ago, i thought it was time to stop paying mechanics to service my old gem, i got to searching on the net and found this site. thanks to you guys and my trusty gregory's i now know a little bit more about cars. about 2 weeks ago i ripped out my old 1.6 and replaced it with a 1.8. they go so much better, (to bad i'm still running it in, i can't wait to give it a good thrash)
so basically just a big thanks to everyone on this site, and whoever made this site in the first place
cheers
ps thanks nerd and qldrobbo for the engine she's going sweet |

No worries mate
Did you rebuilt the head at all while it was in peices? Ie, did you grind the valve seals or anything? I meant to mention that to you when you came round, but I completely forgot... anyway, that would make a noticable difference if you did since you put the old 1600 head on the new 1800..
Anyway, glad to hear you got it running! |

i bought the head a couple of months ago and it was rebuilt then. its great to have a motor that has compression in all cylinders. |

hehehe, it sure is mate, it sure is, I'm glad that engine worked out for you, as I said, it had never been started so I had no idea, but as it was rebuilt you would assume it was in bloody good nick!
just make sure you run it in well, that's what will determine the life and performance of the engine, make sure the oil rings seat nicely |
