Did anything ever happen with that, I thought I saw a Gem or two down there the other day, but I was leaving and running late for things.
Either way, would people be interested if I could organise a session on a Saturday or Sunday in late July or August?

I work there a couple of days a month so I can organise it through my own people. I have some days half worked out for late July/August ... I just have to confirm them then I'll let everyone know.

Yes the car is supposed to be registered ... but as a general rule, if it's reasonably road worthy and has plates on it, we're not going to run around checking certificates and stickers. But no, you can't tow a car there and run it around ... because of liability and such things.
And if you get done for driving an unregistered car on the way there or back, that has nothing to do with me.
The sessions I am organising will be limited to Geminis though. It can have whatever engine you like but it will have to be a Gem.
