Does anyone know what to set each piston at when rebuilding an engine? Is there a site where I can find all the technical info? I can get 1 to TDC @ O/360 degrees but what degree does 4, 2, 3 fire at?
Cheers
Tex

Ummmm is that a trick question ??
They all fire at the same degree before TDC, crank offset determines where they sit in the bore. Dizzy determines point of spark/ignition.
Some builders prefer to set No 1 piston up just before point of ignition with the dizzy/rotor in the appropriate postion to get instant spark on first turn of the crank.
Is this what you're talking about ? Or something else ??
You may have to elaborate on what you mean coz that is how i'm reading your post.

OK If number 1 is at TDC then where are the rest? I know they have to be opp. the weights but there might be some error in this and my car will run shit.
