hi guys, when i got my gem serviced, some apprentice fool reckoned he put a faulty condensor in the gem. within half an hour driving, the car was ruinning like shit. i'm studying automotive at tafe, and all my teachers reckon he put a condensor with alarger capacity *larger than .25 farrad i think it is* in the gem. could this cause it's points to be burnt a bit?
suspension, whats some semi decent shit to thwack in the gem to drop it, including bushes. mine are all cracked and perished and shit, not cool.
also, i eventually wanna turbo the car, so whats a better option, g180 or 200. i heard 180's rev more and freer, making them a better option for turboing. if i bored it out 60 thou, would this make it go better again? also, why doesn't anyone ever put a cam in when they turbo a car? can i do both?
thanks for your help, sorry for the long post, andrew |

the g180 seems to be the go as you want an engine that will rev freely so you can hit boost easily. But there are plenty great turbo g200 out there

when i started with engines i was always told that you dont bore to make cubes, but plenty will disagree with this, its really a personal opinion
" also, why doesn't anyone ever put a cam in when they turbo a car? can i do both?"
you do put a cam in, one that is designed for a turbo charged application. the lift and duration of a Hot NA cam would not work well with a forced induction setup |

the suspenion is easy
u can get brand new lowered springs for a gemini for a total of $350 to $400 new bushes will cost a bit but its easy to do the sway bar and link bushes yourself and even the rear link rods and panhards aswell |
