hi josh, any luck with the cam?
i know from personal experience that you will need to have the cam gear from crow [or something similar] to use the stage2 on the 180.i have a g200 with a standard block and head, and after i put the crow in her, i thought i needed relief cuts until i figured out that the piston/valve gaps on the g180-200 are a little less than the 161, meaning the cam has to be advanced about 4 degrees, to prevent valve clash.[i think a tooth either way on the sprocket is about 8 degrees].
with factory cam timing, i had 2 nice imprints per piston of my inlet and exhaust valves....installed the crow part and never had a problem since.....its there for a reason.
if you are concerned about it, email crow cams, they will always answer you.
cheers,
rob. |
