ATTN: hop-a-long accelerator cable

hey guys, a mate of mine reckoned he adjusted my accelerator cable the other night, now it doesnt kick down when accelerating, it's an auto car. how the fuck do i fix this? it was ok before, but the cable was as floppy as a grannys double d's. hop-a-long, you told me what to do, but what cable, do i do it with the car on? till what engages?
