whenever changing up gears and let out clutch there is a clunk noise and this also happens when i let off the accelorator, would anybody know what this is? couldnt be anything serious?

my guess is tailshaft / diff problems

That happened in my old commodore. The diff was fucked. might be your problem..

if it is not your diff or uny goints it is most likly your torque tube rubber is stuffed

check to make sure your engine mounts are'nt split

there is meant to be a spring inside the tailshaft which stops it hitting the mainshaft in the gearbox. without that spring it will hit the mainshaft on gear changes and deacceleration

well to help us out guessing where is the noise comming from front middle or back

usually its the tourqu tube rubbers perished
but it can be uni joints gearbox mounts engine mounts diff

Park the car with it in neutral and the handbrake on. Slide under the car and grab the tail shaft. Can you twist it back and forth? Any movement is wear in the diff.
Added to this there may also be movement due to wear in the gearbox but this test won't show that.
Now try to shake the tailshaft up & down then side to side. Some small movement is expected but if it freely moves it's from the rubber mount at the front of the torque tube being damaged.
To check if the spring is present inside the gearbox yoke you'll have to take out the tailshaft. If the rear gearbox seal is leaking it is possible the damage to the seal has been caused by extra movement fore and aft of the yoke.
To test wear in the gear box you'll need to juck up the back of the car (wheels off the ground) and place it on stands. With the handbrake off and the car in first gear, slide under and try to turn the tailshaft again. Do it in each gear. The movement you experience is wear in the gearbox. Fore and aft movement of the gear mainshaft will also make that clunk.
