Has anyone replaced the timing chain or tensioner or guides themselves or had it done by a mechanic. Please let me know how it went, any problems you ran into, or how much it cost if you had someone else do it.

Thanks

When I was building my motor up I replaced my timing chain, tensioner, timing chain oil jet and guides. The chain I used was a double row, and I ran into a problem with it when I worked out that the stupid bastards hadn't included the thicker gaskets that are needed in order to give the required clearance. Other than that, I used a G200 tensioner as I've found them to be stronger and more reliable than the standard gemini tensioner. I don't recall any problems with the job, though chasing down a jet was a bit of a pain in the ass. Cheers Smile
