G'day, I'm new here. I don't have a gemini yet, but I'm on the hunt for one to modify to race in the gemini rally series. My first q is what would be a good model to start as a base? I can switch parts b/w models, but I'm only looking to spend 6k. Also, I'm really liking the look of the TX, but is the original suspension setup competitive or should I be looking at trying to convert it to RTS? Can it be done? Cheers, hope I get to know you guys heaps. |

Nah, It's for the dirt track. It's for rallying through forests etc, (ARC) There's a specialist category for gemini's TX to TG with limited mods so it's close rallying and I was told that you can buy and build a gemini for 5-6k and rally a season for 5. |

Ha Ha Ha! Silly me! I'm in Sydney. Found a TX for sale but it's an auto. Is a TX a 3 on the tree or 3 on the floor. Is an auto to manual conversion possible? Christ I have a lot to learn. All I know is VW's! |

All Gemini's are 4 or 5 on the floor.
Yes, an auto to manual conversion is possible.
Be careful with the TX, some of the very early one are alot of mucking around to fit 5spd. If the reverse on the 4spd is to the right and down, that's the one you want. |

Get a TD and just change the grille and back panel over. The TD is a lot better than the TX. TDs have a stronger diff and RTS, which isnt really worth putting on a TX.
Hope that helped.

This is Badger's web-site. Very interesting - especially for someone with your interests.
Also have a look through the R&D forum on this site, alot of valuable information in there.
