Yeah me and my dad did one on my first Gemini a few years back. All you have to do is take out the locking strip, use a bit of string all around the window underneath the seal to loosen the glue and shit then get a mate to slowly and carefully push the window with their feet from the inside, while you pull the string towarss the boot of the car. Its easier to start at the top first.
You might find a better description from a search, since I cant really remember all of the details as it was a far time ago. |

Putting it back in was easier I think. We just used sealer, cant remember what, but I seem to remember black silicone for some reason then we put in new locking strips and it was done. |

Use proper windscreen sealer, not silicone. It stays flexible so won't crack and leak when dry. |

I have replaced many windscreens by myself. Its easy on a gem.
My Method:
First take the middle strip out on the outside
2. with a screw driver, loosen the rubber on the inside, do this in one of the top corners. ( u want to push the corner throu)
3. sit backwards in the rear seat and put your feet (wear shoes) on the back windscreen.
4. in the corner u have lossened push very slowly.
5. the window will slowly pop out.
I have had only 1 front winscreen brake when using this method.
Sealer:
Go to any windcreen shop and get a tube of the profession stuff, Its like black tar, will keep rust away aswell as seal, cleen up with Kero after. |
