Hahaha, cop that Yonnee, what you had nothing else creative?? A rubber mallet, sledge hammer, tin snips and a pair of pliers and cut sections out and bend them outwards, glue on some foil guards, plenty of options |

Cheap & EZ solution people have done B4.
Stick a length of PVC piping between the tyre and the guard, grab two anorexically challenged mates (offering them 'double quarter pounders' will help), get them to sit on the guard, now slowly drive back and forth a foot or two @ a time. 'Walla' insta-guard-rolla.
I chatted to a duder with a ZZ/Z about who rolled his guards coz they looked golden, he told me he did the above scenario. They looked full shmick, like a pro did it. |

He said that you have to do it a little at a time, adjusting the angle of the pipe after every roll. The fronts were apparently not a problem as far as cracking paint, again make sure it's a gradual roll. It's virtually the same as how alot of pros do it, they use a gaurd roller that bolts to your hub and it has a winder mechanism on it that they use to roll up underneath the guard.
The rears need something a bit stronger than the PVC, coz the metal is alot more stronger, he said he used an old wooden sleeper, cut it to about 3 foot length and used that.
I couldn't find any cracks in the paint, so it must have worked fine.
I remember someone else on here ages ago advising the same method, they also said it didn't mess with the paint. I'm gonna give it a burl soon, so i'll post here when it's done to let everyone know how it went. I have shitty paint, so i've got nothing to lose. |
