|
|
1. Make sure the area around the windscreen is clean, no grease or oil
2. Get some blockade(silicone), run a small bead around the inside of
the seal then put the seal on the windscreen.
3. Next get some string approx 4 meters long, wrap it around the seal
following the gap, making sure it crosses over once and meets together the
second time (preferable finishing at the bottom in the middle).
4. Then place a small bead of silicone in the outside gap of the seal, then
place the window on the car and slide the bottom of the seal on the car.
5. Next step is preferably performed with 2 people, slowly pull the string out (thus pulling the seal over the car) while the other person pushes the window firmly into place.
6. Wipe any silicone that has oozed out with a rag and some kero, also add
more silicone as needed
7. Put rubber expander strip back in seal, and then put the small sliver
clip back in the centre of the seal.
***don’t use silicone that dries hard as this tends to have chemicals that
speed up the rusting process, and it may not seal the windscreen as much as
'non set silicone will'***
K&H brand make some of this (non set silicone) which should be available at
car stores or hardware stores. |

The "rubber expander" is called Mylar. Can be bought in a kit complete with handy tool to help with it's installation. |

i used a some wet silicon called mastick i think maybe masticks...
also make sure the rubber seal is also clean and dirt free, its a bit hard to clean but when you have a straight seal with no bumps or leaks its worth it |
