Connect the Dizzy vacume str8 to the inlet manifold
Connect it onto the hole that goes to the standard airfilter |

Well the first response was half there! Yes you can hook it to the inlet manifold and supply vacuum at idle. The timing will have to be played around with and maybe the distributor regraphed (the spring weights will need tightening. Also doing this increases the idle speed heaps so you'll have to drop it. If you dont know how to set this up, a vacuum gauge is the best tool. more info email me at brad@revetec.com |

weber...???
you want a Holley 600 square bore 4-barrel carby...don't waste your time with those shitty 32/36 weber carby's.
i should know ... i've had both. |

You can hook it up to the manifold vacuum source, and you wont need to regraph the dizzy or change the timing. It will simply mean that you have full vacuum advance at idle, but as soon as you crack the throttle open, you will have the same amount of advance as you would with a port vacuum setup. A major beneift of using manifold vacuum advance is that with a large camshaft, the extra advance at idle will help smooth out the idle, and the increase in idle speed needed will not have to come soley from the carburettor. |
