Hi all,
I was messing around today, thinking about all kinds of possible engines to fit in my Gem in the future, and I came upon an interesting website.
http://www.monito.com/wankel/wankel.html
Anything and everything you ever wanted to know about the little rice crackler rotary is there.
A question for rotary Gem owners, how do they go? Does the lighter engine weight help cornering? Do the power characteristics suit the car? WHat kind of revs are you pulling?
Cheers |

I dont' have, (nor have I ever owned) a rotary, gem. I have, however, driven a TG with a 13B in it. Went quite a bit faster than a 2Litre, as far as handling...it didn't seem a hell of a lot different, (aside from the fact that you had to brake earlier). revs, well, I didn't rev that one off it's tits or anything, but a friend who used to have a standard port RX4 13B used to regularly take it to 8,000....occasinally into 9,500 -> 9,700 (during the odd burnout when the "mist of madness" takes over)...They sound like shit though! :)
