ok heres the problem i drive and when the engine revs the exaust sounds like theres something in it
a friends dad said there could be a loose baffle in there.
can it be fixed or do i need to save up for a new exaust ?

just replace the muffler thats noisy get under ur car when its cold as not to burn urself and hit the mufflers find out which one has the noisy baffles and replace it
wont cost u over $150 for the best mffler u can get

Sounds like it. I had a loose baffle in my TX for a while. We were wondering why she would just die in the arse all of a sudden.
Plenty of fuel, good spark, when I started her up again, away we went!
Turns out the baffle was flipping up against the hole in muffler exit pipe, effectively strangling her!

is it possible that runningthe muffler into a spare tyre could loosen the baffles because benjamins scenario sound awfully familiar. where would i find what cam was in my engine, it has always had a really lumpy idle, even mates who know a fair bit about tell me its got a pretty lumpy idle for a stock car, do you rekon it has been changed, where do i look?

You will need to take off the rocker cover and the there should be a couple of numbers stamped on the cam.
