hi everybody
I just read the previous post about the TG dash not fitting on the TE model. I own a TE, and it looks pretty dodgy (cracks on the top, clock not working).. I want to change it immediately.. But, to what?? Whats the best dash that fits on easily? Anything? Or would it be better off reskinning mine (costs $232) and leaving it..
Oh yeah, Whats the easiest way to take it off? |

Get your dash reskinned and try to get a set of CDT dials and gauges.
CDT (Country Dealer Team) Geminis ran imported dials from the Isuzu Gemini ZZ/R. This included a factory tacho and another set of guages that fill up the storage section above the gear stick in that console. I can't remember what they are, but I'm sure they're handy.
Then you'll have a nice dash with some extra stuff and it's all factory. I think Steve at Just Geminis in Adelaide is negotiating with somebody currently to get 5 sets. If I had a TE, I'd get them myself!

wouldn't recommend reskinning it because the vinyl they use (generally) loks shocking and you will only regret it. Best off finding (!) a good secondhand one at the wreckers. I found three this year for my cars - black is best.
As far as instruments go, good luck finding a tacho - very rare factory option in this country, available standard on Gypsy vans. Ditto for the console gauges (Oil pressure, Clock and Amp Gauge) - if you find a spare set, give me a buzz! |
