tailshaft comes off first.
undo the handbrake cable where the Y intersection is, undo the first bolt or two that joins diff & tailshaft.
the way to reach the other bolts is to simply jack one wheel up off the ground, make sure the gearbox is in neutral, and then you can spin the tailshaft around a little to reach the other bolts.
tailshaft then slides forward about 1cm before it 'unhooks' from the diff, then you can slide it right out.
be weary of the fact that oil can now easily come out the end of the gearbox, so have a bucket ready! a plastic bag and a rubber band fixes this problem too
then all u have to is wobble, rattle, yank & pull the box out [you may have to loosen engine mounts].
good luck!! |

thanx man ill give it a go
the engine isnt on the mounts anyway, the block is just sitting there already stripped so it moves around. |
