I'd like to know what you guys think of my plan to make my TE commuter more economical.
I want to put EFI on it by fitting a 2litre rodeo inlet manifold (and maybe the throttle body), and all the remaining necessary hardware from a camira wreck on it.
How hard would it be to graft the appropriate bits of the camira dizzy into the gemini one?
Anyone had experience with this?

Had experience with the EFI conversions. There are two options for the distributor: An after market kit that bolts into the original dizzy and uses a chopper and IR LED pickup to signal the ignition module (you'll need the module from a Camira/Pulsar/etc) Or you can hunt around for an import distributor that bolts into the original slot. They use a megnetic pickup and cap from an RB. Just Geminis, Adelaide had a couple of those dizzys last time I was there. This proved to be about the easiest part of the EFI conversion. The actual reprogramming of the chip etc ended up costing more than all the hardware combined. The fuel savings are definately worth it though. Another couple of tips would be to definately hook an O2 sensor up, and if you can get the Camira throttle body on, take the time to get the Idle Air Control valve hooked up (Im assuming you're butchering a JD JE Camira with the Delco computer not the earlier BOSCH ones) Good luck.
