What would be the name of the US equivalent of the TX-TD gemini? Going to have a ring around and see if there are any tacho clusters and three instrument clusters knocking around. 1 week down, 2 to go. It's fucking cold(for a brissie boy), I have the flu, and did I mention I'm missing the cruise next week?
(other rare items I should enquire about?)

Buick Opel
Buick Opel Kadett
Opel Isuzu
These were all Isuzu-built TX-TD style sedans and coupes - not sure what the dash looked like - I've got a brochure from eBay coming in from the States, but it's not here yet. I'd say it would be a LHD version of the Isuzu/Holden Gemini dash, but you never know - these little T-cars never cease to amaze me.
Isuzu I-Mark was also sold in the US - it's a TE-TF-TG-style sedan and coupe. There are later I-Marks as well, but they are Gemini R-series and J-series based, so they won't be any good to you.
Of course, the volume selling T-car was the Chevrolet Chevette (& Pontiac 1000, T1000 & Arcadian (Canada)), but they had very little in common with the Aussie and Japanese Geminis - similar chassis and the three-door shared doors with the panno and wagon (I think) but other than that, nothing.
Buick Opel is the one you want. |

I was watching Ripley's Believe It Or Not the other day (absolute boredom eating lunch) and there was a segment about a human crash test dummy.
The guy set a record by crashing a Mercury luxo cruiser into a Chevrolet Chevette 3 door at 40Mph!
The Mercury T-boned the Chevette and, well, lets say the driver (being LHD) would have been sitting in the passenger's lap... :S |
