yeah...

like the bloke with the heater cutting out ... my head lights do it too...

In the loom under the dash there is one burn't wire (red/green stripe it think). I pulled the connector appart, pushed the wire back in, but the wire still heats up and pulls out again ...

--> Why would the wire be getting so hot as to melt the plastic in the wiring loom... Where is the head lamp relay in a 75 TX seadan, and where will the head lamp circuit earth ???

(why the fuck is everything in my car suddenly getting hot !!! ei:engine temp...)

What headlights has the car got? Standard sealed beams or Halogen conversions? If the latter, what wattage globes are in them?

Does it only overheat while the lights are on?
Have you got any other electrical mods that might be short circuitting?

mmm....

yeah i've just got the old school sealed beam head lights.... (standard)

nah... it's runs hot most of the time (lights on and off)...

--> electric mods... i hooked up a tacho in the dash instead of the clock... that's about it ...

You've got yourself a short circuit somewhere by the sounds of things, grab yourself a multimeter and go hunting... oh... good luck*.
