Anyone heard of 'Scortcher' dissy conversions?? I'm in Canberra and I approached an auto elec guy here re converting to elec ignition - he said he sends them to Melb on an exchange basis for $300-$400. Can anyone comment on these or other solutions? |

If you want electronic Ignition the best way to go about is that you can pull them off the old Holden Jackroo or old Rodeo. They look and fit exactly the same as the standard dizzy.
Ive got elec ignition on my G200 Gem. My brother who was a manager and professional mechanic but now a supervisor for suburu, did the wiring and fitting for me and said it was the best way to go by getting it off a Older rodeo or jackaroo. It has been running beautiful for over a year and a half now.
So try that.
If your gonna get it fitted by a electrition, they will prob charge you from $60 up.

Can you recall (or find out) what was required to make it work?
I will be doing this as soon as I can and am looking at options. Most of the options range from less that $100 right through to the $300-400 option suggested.
The Rodeo/Jackaroo solution sounds easy enough, trouble is sourcing one.
