Lights and surrounds are the same 7" sealed beam. The different TX grille is a straight swap. The bumper's no different either. Unless you're thinking of the later models, TD's different lights (square) and grille, TE's TF's & TG's had different front sheet metal which is not quite a bolt on fit. |

No, the square TD lights don't allow the TX grille to fit because the TX grille is wider and follows the form of the round lights.
You will either need TD lights AND grille OR TX lights AND grille. There are slight differences between TX and TD (unsure about TC) but the radiator mounts differently (improvement) and the square lights may require a different mounting system.
Personally I prefer TX look over TD, but TX and TD win hands down over TCs ugly Blaileen Whale Tooth setup.

While most of the TX TC TD stuff is interchangable, the plastic surround around the 7" sealed beam looks like it is the same shape as the TD light, which has no surround. The grille, however, is tapered outwards at the bottom on the TX & TC which may interfere with the bottom of the TD light. Personally, I prefer the TD grille which will fit with either light setup.
Two things to consider though, even though you can still buy the TD square lights new, they are in excess of $250.00ea. They are also only a sealed beam which means they aren't very bright, and if you blow a globe, you have to get a whole new light assembly, and there's no aftermarket equivalent. If you want to see at night, might I suggest keeping the round lights and upgrading them to "semi-sealed" lights. This means you can, with the use of a relay, up the light wattage for brighter lights at night. It also means you can replace a blown globe with a $10 replacement. You can also get those fancy new "rainbow" globes that shine different colours at different angles. If you want more Info., let me know.
Hope this helps,
Yonnee. |
