Haven't driven my car in about 2weeks, I started it today and it starts alright but after about 15 seconds or so, it stalls. When it stalls I can clutch start it by droppin it into first but it pops and fires a bit before starting, and then it stalls again about 10 seconds later. Anyone have any ideas what could be up?
P.S The fuel pump appears to work fine so I don't think that's it. |

Does it stall if you build up the RPM as well? I had a problem where i could start it up, put it in first, and the engine would die no mater how fast the engine was turning over, the cause of this was an electrical problem.
Also if you drive it around, for say 10 minutes does the problem go away? Might be some shit in the carby or something like that.
Anyway i have only limited experience in this. |

could be your alternator... when your key is in the START position, the fuel pump is connected to the battery. When its in the ON position, its connected to the alternator. Therefore, when your alternators dieing, it will start, fill up the fuel bowl and when running stall after the fuel in the bowl is consumed.
Also check the plugs & bat connection on the alternator... does the bat light come on? |
