Commonly called a "wank-o-meter" it measures manifold vaccum. 'Inches of mercury" is the term for which it is measured. (Hg)
All you need to install it into the dash is a length of vaccum tubing, no wires.

The tachometer that works in reverse!
Stupid, stupid device because when you modify your car with a hotter cam and such, more vacuum is created thus giving you the impression you're nailing it more and ruining your economy.
wank-o-meter, lol about right |

It's a good item for middle aged Commodore drivers who want to make sure they're doing good mileage.
Great to see if you're chewing too much juice when you're towing a caravan or something.
My chick's Dad uses his when he tows shit - he keeps it in the economy zone when he's doing 100kph on the way to Clare up north of Adelaide.
But yeah, for all us Gemini drivers, it's pretty useless (I was just trying to say that it DOES have a use, just not for us) |
