just got an 1983 gemini anyway the timming gear was dead,i have since got all i need to fix,but for the oil jet,it had a plain bolt in there,do they need the oil jet,or not |

The plain bolt is prob why the timing gaer was shot. The oil galley in the proper bolt is where the oil comes thru and lubricates the chain while the motor is running. You cant buy em, they are an OEM bolt. Get a clapped out Gem motor - Capalaba Wrechers used to sell clapped out old Gem blocks for 30 - $50 (else they sling em in the metal bin). OR just pinch it using a 10mm socket if you caN find a block with the timing cover off at the wreckers. |
