pissing cops off is fun
when they pull you over to defect you next just tell them its about bloody time just to see what there reaction is its fun for the whole family. the cop almost started yelling at me at one point.
the three tops things for traffic cops to check for
rubber on the pedals :fail
ripped carpet :dont have carpet so they didnt know what to do
tight battery: pass, yay
then when they tell ya that there gonna get the decimeter out try telling them not to bother its gonna fail any way.
Can anybody answer for me whether having a plastic oil catch can is illegal cause they said it was?
oh well thats another gemi off the road for good. That just means i have to pull the motor in another one i have sitting here
too bad

Couldn't you just stick a bolt or something in the end of the hose?? |

Redline do a gauze/paper style breather cap with a female rubber end designed to go onto the Gemini and Escort rocker covers. It looks a bit like a small chrome air cleaner about 2.5" diameter and 3" high. I'm only guessing at about $15 - $20.
The hose that is on the original air cleaner is there to recirculate the hot oil vapour gasses and other gas build-ups caused by "blow-by" (If your rings are worn, some compression escapes past them into the sump, up the oil drain galleries to the rocker cover. This is known as blow-by). As a Geminis engine is fully sealed, if the motor is excessively worn, this pressure can build up enough in the engine to cause oil leaks. Normally this pressure is drawn through the hose from the rocker cover to be sucked through the air cleaner and into the motor to be reburnt. If this hose is disconnected the oil vapours, and coresponding droplets, get vented into the engine bay. (MESSY!) On a racecar they do not want this oil on the track, so we have to run a catch tank if we don't have the original air cleaner and hose. On a street car you can get away with the breather pod (see above) although not exactly r/worthy.
Hope this helps anyone.

Ramflo 600 series filters have an actual plug in them that takes the breather hose. They are the ones you use if runnings a stock Nikki carb. |

Yeah, most of the aftermarket air cleaners for the stock Nlkkl have the breather outlet in the bottom of them. But if you change carbys, some air cleaners don't have that option.
