was reading a while ago about some fellas whose gemmis were supposedly breaking in two. mine is pretty well lowered and rides like a go-kart and i seem to be getting a moon shaped crack in the roof.it could be sagging in the middle or something. is this the same problem and is there any way to fix it cos i don't want to end up selling my car as a half-cut. any help appreciated cos this is a real problem for me.
cheers |

Cant help you with your problem, but this photo may be of assistance in showing you what NOT to do if you want your Gemini to stay in one piece

i think most probs with snapping in half start in the boot, apparently if the gemini is lowered (i got a tg and its lowered too far) most of my mates that have got tg's have either had or have a crack in the boot floor near the chassis rail, the stress on the car is too much when lowered and so this split develops... but i never heard of your prob b4 most likely its just the roof sagging, if the stress started to make ur roof crack ...gees u better dump ur car and run, coz it somethin else should have cracked aswell to make the roof go.... anyway have a look at ur boot floor and chassis to see if it is from being lowered and same prob as me...sorry bout long post!
how funny is the pic!!!!LOL

I have heard this recently and am a little interested to know exactly where the crack develops. Can any of you guys describe in detail where the most common crack appears?
Is it in line with the length of the car or across its width? |

across the width. it formed in my old red gemini above the axels. (eg. draw an imaginary line from inside the boot where the bumpstops would bottom out on the diff/axels. thats where it will happen)

does this only occur on dumped on their arse geminis or can it happen to legally lowered gems that get a beating round the track etc? |
