I picked up a tacho from the wreckers last week from a ford cortina which fitted into the dash in my TD. The backing plate had to be modified very slightly about 1cm square cut off with tin snips and 2 holes drilled into the back of the dash where the clock was for the connectors of the tacho to come through. Once in I found it was for a 6 cylinder engine and of course not reading correctly. So I took the tacho to an instrument shop and the guy there reconfigured it to a 4 cylinder in less than 5 minutes. This whole job
cost me $10 for the tacho, $10 to get it reconfigured,
and few hours of my time. Dont know if anyone else has done this but with TD tacho's getting rare this might be an option.
