i bought a bloody gregorys when i got my car it was the first thing i bought and it doesn't tell or show you or even hint at how to get the brushes out of the alternator... when i opened the thing up it was obvious that u unsolder them and when the guy at autopro said to unsolder them i knew i was on the right track...
if you knew how to do it y not just type it here
could of saved me some time trying to work it out!
anyway thanks all the same....at least you replied!!! |

Well the Gregorys is how I learned. Sure the exploded diagram doesnt show them, they are in the holder on the diode pack(what the diagram calls "heat sinks")
Im not going to post lengthy howtos here on how to tune a Gem, how to dissassenble alternators, etc. Dont be a chicken just disassemble it using th manual, you'll find the brushes, no problem. Yeah, Ive only done it once, cant remeber, you may need to solder them out/in. you'll need an 80W soldering iron. That electrical solder is tough stuff. |
