have 12v at the coil..have fuel. change coil, change capacitor..to no avail.please help .thanks..just that from coil to the lead, i put a spark plug and start engine..i donl;t see spark..sigh |

when you say you dont see a spark are you holding it in the air or just off the engine??? |

Pull of the dizzy cap, check that there is a spark at the points whilst cranking. If not, then that is where you problem lies. If there is spark at the points, then check that the wire coming from the points to the negative side of hte coil is going to earth when the points close.
If you have 12v at positive side of coil, and earth at negative side of coil when points shut, then if you get no spark, you coil doesnt work. This is providing you have sufficient points gap, 1mm would be enough for a check.
