When I was driving around last night and the night before, I backed off the accelerator and the lights go dimmer then what they were and my battery guage that was saying about 12.2v instantly drops down to 8 volts. Possibly more but the guage dont go down no more than 8.
And as this happens the charge light comes on very dim. (can only see it dim during the night)
We swapped alternators to a better one when we put the new head on. Its sposed to be charging at 13+ i think but its chagring at approx. 12.2-5 ish. Its a bigger alternator than the old alternator and the weird thing is the other alternator was doing the same thing (charging lower than what its sposed to).
The battery as far as i know is fine. Its starts normal so battery isnt flat.
I dunno, im not that smoart.

try changing the regulator from the old fashioned
mechanical device to a new solid state regulator
best left for an auto elec to change it for you
mine cost 40+ for regulator &$25 for labour
mine was only droping to 10 or 11 volts
cheers nik |

check your earth lead between the engine and the body. I had a bad earth once and the engine was trying to earth through the throttle cable when it was pulled tight. |
