Its my understanding that a 1600 head from any model will fit any 1600. The same as a 2 litre rodeo engine will bolt straight into any model Gemini. The heads are all interchangable, from 1600 (g161) right through to 2 litre (g200).

Hope that helped .....

the GxxxW motors (twin cam) heads and blocks are completely different from single cam motors and (unfortunately) wont bolt up

the twin cam motor is quite an old design and started its life as a pushrod motor back in the 60's. its had various states of design, (eg in the isuzu 117 coupe in the late 60's early 70's) with the most common variety being those found in the ZZ/R and ZZ/T geminis as well as the japanese spec Piazza

"1981 XE Piazza, G200W 2litre twin cam. Originally bought in by Suttons for testing before the turbo version was introduced years later."

Geez you guys know your stuff but the question was,

"if a TX-TD head will fit on a te 1.6 engine, if it does do the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold still connect up with no problems"

he asks nothing about the G200XYWL or Z motors???

The answer: Yes straight swap, both manifolds will connect up like a cock in a cranberry hanger!!

All single cam heads are interchangeable. Early heads, upto mid TE all had larger valves. The later (TE +) pollution motors were equipped with an air pump system connected on exhaust side (removal may upset constabular).
If your TE has a mechanical fuel pump, you will have to cut out casting as TX-TD had electric pumps.
Inlet & exhausts are all same.
