air ride suspension uses compressors to inflate the suspension with air, where hydraulics uses a battery operated sytem with hydrolics, hence the names.. |

Air bag suspensions use bags of air instead of springs.
Hydraulic suspensions use hydraulic cylinders and fliud.
Air bags can be presurised to set whatever ride height you want within the systems capabilities, I'm not sure how hydraulics systems work as a whole, but they can make your car bounce. |

in short hydraulics r illegal airbags are legal but expensive hyds have presets in them u flick the switch it hits the hight hdralics need several as in 8 drycell bateries to run which takes your whole boot up and cost a pretty penny. airbags cost alot initially but in the end would worl out the sameish i think u can work it out.
the "pumps" in hydralics r what slowly lifts your car
"dumps" are the ones that kick your car hard and launch it into the air as ben points out.
with hydralics u need to strengthen your chasis or the car will bend after a while which isnt a good or safe look.
airbags from approx 4800 hydralics 1000 + the 8 drycells at about 3-4 hundred a pop
if u want to know anything else ask k
