ADDED WEIGHT talk about what you know about!!
until youve actually driven or been in a gem with added weight up the front shut ya mouths, they actually handle quite well when you position the engine properly and not just wack it in.. heavier springs to accomodate the weight
and away you go..
cheers

do you guys know the definition of opinion?
maybe i am wrong about the weight of a v6, but theres also centre of gravity to consider in terms of that, and it would take a lot of work to change that IF its actually possible. I'm sure a v6 or v8 is fine for the drags.
anyway... I STILL DON'T SEE WHY ANYONE WOULD BOTHER!!!
And if you don't like it, fuck ya.
Personally, i'm sick of egotistical meatheads who chuck hissy fits when someone has a different point of view than them. |

as i was about to say, how about something like an sr20? it would cost less than having a v6 in it and getting it all engineered and shit...and plus it would probably go better than the v6... |

actually that centre of gravity bit doesn't hold water. |

want a tissue cock head
im sorry ive got a v8 in my gem and i know what your saying is bullshit i was just stating your wrong from what youve heard on the grape vine about added weight..
Take it from some one who has been there and done it..
Just like if some one has put a turbo 2.6 in there gem do you call him a egotistic meat heat cause he tells you it does work and your wrong.
when i built the car I was thinking the same thing but it suprised the hell out of me once the car was going.. So i try and pass this onto you guys and all you do is shit on me, WHYS that because ive done it..
WELL FUK YOU |

I run a 355 chev and the car is near rego i just have to get off my arse.. Its not a cheap excercise mate but just for the engineering put aside close to $3000 just to pay him.

we were talking v6 in a gemmie.
as suggested by various members... today i did some research.
According to 3 mechanics and a wrecker specialising in holden, the holden v6 is all cast iron, heads and block.
And being so, weighs considerably more than 4cyl.ANd if u use a v6 tranny, thats heavier than even a trimatic too. thus putting the whole cars centre of gravity forward, unless you add more weight strategically to counteract.
The wrecker suggested there may be a VERY late alloy v6, but he wasn't sure, hadn't seen one and if he had one it would be bloody expensive.
so i maintain my original comments and OPINIONS.
IDAREU2, i never abused you or anyone directly, i never said "anyone who puts v6/v8's is a fuckin dumbshit" or similar. but your response seems a little touchy, did i strike a nerve maybe? U obviously have a very big dick talking to me like that, i'm sure everyone's impressed..
(sigh..this is getting old quickly) And if by stating my opinion i have hurt someones pride or business(v6 conv's), sorry but its a free world.
if i'm wrong then let me know, i'd appreciate it.
but don't chuck a f'n hissy fit..
ps. anyone who does know about an alloy v6, id love to hear more, cept if your gonna be a prick about it. |

fair enough stumps it just sounded like you was to me (my oppologies)
guys i have nothing to proove to non of you my love is geminis not what runs the fuking things...
As fair as the cock comment (smiles) no complaints so far..
The only time weight becomes a problem with a car is when there is too much engine over the front cross member thus under bracking tries to lift the rear and causes nose dive and rear end wobbles.. (NOT GOOD)
The trans is about where you sit if this is a problem FAT pricks wouldnt be able to drive the car cause the centre of gravity would throw the car forward come on mate have a think about it..
A V6 engine would actually sit further back from the cross member than the 4 cyl would due to there only being 3 cyl in a row making for better satability under braking but yes would weigh more so heavier springs would have to come into play for it to work properly..
trying to help not argue so dont shoot me..
would someone get off there arse and do this conversion so we can put this to rest...
There is all alloy V6 blocks BUT in know way related to the buick its actually alfa romeo GTV6/renult/volvo/peugeot
there just a couple to list there is probably more..
anyway im out
