Do you have to look at the voltage of the coil, like does that make any difference wen ur buying a tacho. Its just that i read somewhere "works for all 12v vehicles" does that mean 12v battery or 12v coil?? i think me stock td's is 7 volt? correct? cheers lads |

the coil voltage doesnt matter u tacho feeds off your ignition power |

Doesnt the tacho read the actual revs off the neg side of coil? |

that is correct, neg side of coil, meaning no actual voltage is going thru that, just sending a signal. I'm just assuming this so dont take my word for it, but it seems to make sense if you look at it this way.
hope this helps mate
have a good one |

the colt voltage doesn't matter as long as you have a 12 volt power supply(batt)it will work. |

unless your gem is 24v or 240 with a extension lead draging out the back u wont have a prob. and pervert even though its negative its still got current flowing though it. |

unless your gem is 24v or 240 with a extension lead draging out the back u wont have a prob. and 7 volts at the coil is about right because if there it was shotting out 12v u will need new points every month because it will eat em up quick. and pervert even though its negative its still got current flowing though it. |
