yes well i went and picked up the gemini today from BoostinOz. she was on the dyno when i got there. good stuff. it got treated to a re-jetted carbie and a full dyno tune. its a 1.6 with tx big valve head, port and pollish, heavy duty valve springs, stage 2 camtech cam, extractors, 2 1/4 inch high flow exhaust. it was time for the power run, she made 53Kw at the wheels... it doesnt seem much, but its pretty good for a 1.6. i just thought some people might want to know what kind of figures this combo makes. it revs out to 6500rpm safely and with ease.
well thats my post for the month, happy motoring. mitch. |

high 17's my 1.6 ran 16.1 with 350 holley 30/70 cam std bottom end extractors 2 1/4 inch exhaust and a slight bit of head work thats good.
and i no a lad that had a 1600 cam and 350 holley ran 15.8 all day every day at the drags. now thats good 4 a 1600 with fuck all money spent on it |

Well, 53rwkw is more power at your rear wheels than the TF\TG put out at the flywheel, so I'd be pretty damned happy with that Makes for a much nicer power to weight ratio.
Hmmm, one of these days if I ever finish the damned car I should whack her on the dyno and get her tuned then see what she can do. Dammit, yet more money going out, oh well, so be it.

Im getting a g180 built at boostin oz right now
2L overbore/pistons, 1600 big valve tx head, heavy duty springs, extractors, cam and eventually a 32/36 webber once its all run in.
Any ideas what this will produce (apart from a nice amount of torque !)
My last motor was a g200dohc, initially I expected the sohc to be just a nice daily runner but I think it might have more power once its done |

I'd be expecting anywhere from 70Kw upwards, but the only way to truly tell will be to get it dynoed. Anything we say will literally only be guesswork.

Was the 350 Holley fitted to the 1600 a bit boggy down low ? I used to cruise in a 2 litre Escort with a 350 Holley and it was reasonably slow under 60kph, but had an awesome 4000rpm+ rush on it.
Mitch, how much did you fork out for your dyno time ? And how long did it take ?

That is quite decent although it is always hard to know with the amount of variation from one dyno to another. Did they take a power run before they tuned it? |
