I know this is a gemini site, but i think some of you might find this interesting. just got home from my cousin's house. None of you will believe what i'm gonna tell you, but if i hadent seen it with my own eyes, i doubt i would have believed it.
Anyways, he's got his hands on a brand spanking new viper engine (as in dodge viper), lets just say he 'aquired' it [Legally] at a VERY affordable price. If you check the stats for this thing, fucking V10, 8.01 L. It's one big mumma too. Guess what he's planning to put it into? No, not a gemini (haha), but the next best thing... a 1976 LX Torana. by now your thinking- o--kay, this guy's dreaming. I shit you not, when i saw it he had got it back from a mod specialist that helped him increase the engine bay area. Custom made wheel housing's that are about a foot further out sideways than they used to be and the whole front dash/seats/gearbox set have been moved back nearly into the back seat. I think they ordered the engine struds from dodge and mod'd them to fit and have done some MASSIVE chassis strengthening. at the moment, the engine block and a few other components are basicly all that are in the bay, although it is FAR from empty. He's in the process of getting a 6-speed original gearbox out of an earlier model viper from a company in Germany and may be able to get the Diff set with it (which will need some MAJOR work on to fit).
OBVIOUSLY he isn't expecting to register this over-powered machine, but still. wooh! Expected to get 450+ Horsepower. Build time will probably be about two or three years.
Expect to see this sometime in the future! |

I seen a LX Torana Hatch at Harry's Diner,
that had a 93/94?? Model Corvette 350 Chev motor in it, may not be the next HP Heros contender, but hey, gettin milk from the local shop will be more enjoyable
with a huge Single throttle body along with 8 secondary thottle bodies in the Runners, the injection is similar to the TPI Manifold that you may find one the C.O.M.E kits,
this thing has about 400HP Stock off the floor, mated to a Supra Box with a near enough Bullet proof Rear end, with 11.1 compression and Optimax loving motor, how much fun can you have??
cost and arm and leg by the way, not sure exactly myself
good work to the fella

Sounds good. You could get 450HP out of a 350 no swet! My dad has over 400 at the wheels from his 308 (LX Torana Hatch) and that's still just running a holley.
Sounds like a lot of work for only 450HP and if that's all the power he wanted than a 350 would be MUCH easier. But the viper engine would have a shitload more torque which is what's gunna get ya moving, and it would have potential for a lot more.
I don't know if I'd put a viper engine in an old torana but good on him and I hope he enjoys it |

Hmmm... mock it if you must, but ask yourself - why would a Viper cost heaps? Apart from the obvious marketing price-hikes on that area of th car market. And has anyone ever seen a viper in a torana?
You ever heard a viper engine purr? Fuck, and he got it for free anyway. Who gives a fuck about horsepower - and that figure is just what the manufacturer quotes of the floor. you want horsepower go buy a jet bike [http://www.kalbarautofest.com/images/MADRON.jpg --- 3,800 hp + after burner another 1,200hp]
It's gonna be a show car anyway, there are these people called 'Enthusists' that happen to like particular cars.
P.s. tell granma he'll race her 120Y/ferarii
And santa, i want a new bike for christmas |

Gene and MR_FEMI, why give him shit?. Quit nagin like an old maid and enjoy the customs out there. A Viper V10 in a torry is no more whacky than a Rolls Royce Merlin V12 in a 1955 Chev but its been done and its more original than your rice in a box geminis. |
