Personally i'd tear down and rebuild any engine with anything less that 120psi in the cylinder compression department.
Generally losing oil through the PCV valve indicates fuggered rings.
If you can install most parts youself, then a reco would be maybe $350-$600 obviously depending on price and quality of parts used and any machine work performed.
For a professional to do the job, you'd be very lucky to get a quote under a grand. A reputable top notch shmick job generally costs a smidge over two grand - this is where mates rates comes in very handy.

| Drop a squirt of oil down each plug hole and do the compression test again. If 1 & 4 raise their compression, then the rings are shagged. If they don't, or one doesn't, then there's a problem with the valves in the head. Gemmys are constantly burning out No.4 exhaust valve. |

I've had quotes of around $1500 to fully rebuild my G200 and that price includes a new perfomance cam.
