ok, firstly u have to machine a sleve to slide over the axle shaft. the reason for this is because the shaft is to small for the commodore bearings

sleve I.D 26.98mm
O.D 31.67mm

the i.d is the same as the gemini shaft and the o.d is the same as the i.d of the commodore bearings.

u need a seal the suit a gemini/commodore
brand- pbr automotive
part no. tc12099

the seal has the same i.d as a gemini and an o.d to suit commosdore.

the brake caliper bolts straight on (TE onwards, tx-td have a different steering knuckle)

im using a VP commodore brake lines front the caliper to the standard gemini metal line. i had to flare the gemini metal line because it kept leaking

i also had to machine 5mm off the face of the disk to bring the offset back in. you will not have to do this unless you are running big wheels.

now is this a front or rear brake conversion? and i mean why fit the VN/vp stuff when you could fit volvo and have better brakes?
the calipers your saying are a bolt on fit to the caliper bracket? or did you enlogate the holes? every one that i talk to about fitting comodore calipers have to either enlogate the caliper holes or make up a new caliper bracket using TX stub axles?

Yeah much better to have the holes pluged and redrilled than elongating. Any extra room for the caliper to move around can cause them to rattle and thats not too good.

"now is this a front or rear brake conversion?"

try reading the topic tittle

"and i mean why fit the VN/vp stuff when you could fit volvo and have better brakes?"

prehaps because i got calipers, disk and caliper kits for free. and the fact that volvo disk are half the size of VN might have something to do with it

"the calipers your saying are a bolt on fit to the caliper bracket? or did you enlogate the holes? every one that i talk to about fitting comodore calipers have to either enlogate the caliper holes or make up a new caliper bracket using TX stub axles?"

THEY BOLT STRAIGHT ON! geez are you thick, im trying to tell you how to do something and your dissing me by going off another person "WORD". I HAVE DONE THE CONVERSION AND AM NOT GOING OFF WHAT I HEARD OFF A FRIEND OF A MATES, MATE!

Hey,
Your conversion looks very interesting, my only question is which VN disks did you use?

I was just looking through the DBA catalogue, and there are a few different VN disks, all with different diametres and such... so which ones did you use?

From closer inspection, I assume you are using VN V6 without FE2 suspension disks, which have a diametre of 270mm, dba number 015

Would this be correct?
