Diesel is 3.55:1 plus the ends of the housing is different to suit bigger drums. There may be more but this is all I know. |

TX and TC petrol diffs were 3.89:1 (code GM5)
TD thru TG petrol diffs were 3.90:1 (code GU8)
The TE thru TG diesel diffs were 3.58:1 (code HK2)
The TE thru TG diesel cars use fully imported diffs of the same type used in the Piazza.
Brake drums linings on the TE thru TG diesel cars are actually narrower and smaller in diameter with less friction surface area than those on the TE thru TG petrol models.
Petrol brake (230.0mm x 50.0mm)
Diesel brake (228.6mm x 40.0mm)
The rear wheel cylinders are also smaller on TE thru TG diesel cars (20.64mm) than the equivelent petrol (22.22mm)cars.
On the other hand the master cylinder on the petrol model cars used a 20.64mm diameter bore where the diesel models used the bigger 22.22mm bore.
Lets hope that answers all the speculation about the different diff and brake combinations. _________________ I try to tackle one day at a time, but often several days attack me at once.

Hey Poida,
Do you know about bearings on Gemi diffs?
Is there a diff with single row ball bearings on the axles, not the tapered rollers that are in mine?
Thanks Thirsty |
