Hey guys, I came accross the problem with gemini tapets being noisy! I have a stage 2 cam and they have been noisy for a few months and today I'd had enough after trying to set the valve clearences about 4 times so anyway heres the go. I pulled the whole rocker gear off and I found that both rockers on cylender 1 were worn!!! i then took the rocker gear off a spare G161 I had and 1 of them rockers was really badly worn. So bad infact that it had started wearing the lob of the cam... anyway I replaced the 2 front rockers on my engine and re did all the valve clearences again and it's heaps better! still a tiny bit noisy but nothing like before. I took the 3 worn rockers to the guy who built my bottom end and he couldnt belive it. He said they normally wear the 2 rocker shafts before they do any damage to the lob facing... anyways there ya go... If you have noisy tappets (which lots of geminis do) then have a good look at your rocker gear =)

But if the rockers are worn then thats the main problem... Also if the rocker is worn it changes the whole profile of the cam lobe. It's a pretty serious issue for geminis as far as I am concerned |
