Koni - Yellows & Reds

What is the main difference between the red and yellow Koni's besides the outrageous price difference.
I just finished doing a search and came across a few posts with high regard for the yellow series. But nothing was mentioned about the quality or comparability of the red series. Are the reds on a par or better than say Pedders or other brands. Are they 'just another shock' to compete with the sports range other specialists have.
I've gotten two quotes so far, 1st was $290 a pair and i was told ALL Koni's are adjustable - that was from a rep at King Springs.
2nd quote was from Repco, $210 a pair at trade price.
Neither mentioned there was a yellow and a red series.

B.T.W, Gene i took your advice in a post i found about cheaper King Springs prices. Kings wanted $300 a pair. I asked Repco when i was there, and they quoted approx. $210 a pair. So i know where i'm buying my springs from, you'd expect Kings were cheaper being that you are buying direct from the manufacturer.

$210 for a pair of king springs, mate you are gettin ripped...i paid $130 a pair from tsr shock reconditioners at slacks creek in brisbane, and there are plenty of places that sell them foe similar prices

Dude, i think he means 210 for a pair of pairs. Lol, they are usually $110 for 2, so $210 for a set is good.

Eeeep, my bad. 'Gemin_Eye' is right - $210 for a pair of pairs. I just re-read the post and it does read like $210 for either the front or the rears seperately. I was quoted $105 for the front and ditto for the rear.
'WAS 161', were you completely satisfied with your Kings ? Which did you get 'Low' or 'Super-Low' ?
Can anyone help me out with info on the Koni's ? As i said, searching didn't help me out.

my mates got super lows in his gem and yeah it sits really low handles well he also has adjustable front shocks and short travel rear shocks

the back tyres sit just in side the guard
proabably lower than what he wanted but still pretty good

I'm fairly sure they're both adjustable.
The reds are adjustable on the car, the yellows have to be done off the car.

mate inquired about konis and they are all adjustable but he foudn some cheeper ones that are adjustable
theres 4 stages of sdjustment
and they are pretty dayem still

Cheers, Only part of my question is answered, it looks like all Koni's are adjustable from the replies. But what are they like compared to other well known brands ? Will i be getting a decent size more from Koni at just under $250 a pair ? Or am i better of paying the same price for Pedders/Gabriel/KYB/Whiteline/Monroe shocks.

Gene, you say you have reds and they are adjustable. That's nice to know but i want to know if they were better than other brands you have used. You seem to have gone through a fair few different combos with springs and shocks, what was your opinion on the Koni's compared to other brands you used.
I have the cash, i'm pretty much wanting experienced advice on which shock people found to be the best improvement in road holding within a reasonable price bracket - under $250 a pair. I dont particularly want to shell out say $400 for a complete set, then have a bunch of people tell me that i could have gotten a certain set cheaper and have my car handle better.

out of pedars springs, whiteline springs and king springs
i like the feel of pedars, the "fullsik look" of kings. and the whiteleine springs didnt really do it for me

shocks, iv used GT gas, Pedars (rears), bilstinen (fronts), and i have the red konis

GT's well i cant even tell the difference with these and stock ones. pedars were a bit beter (but i only used em in the rears, bilstien fucking rocked!!! but cos there twice as thick i couldnt run big tires (ie i had to go skinyer rims on the front cos they rubbed on the fat ass shock. now the konis are in my car, but iv not driven on them, cos the car has no engine Smile

but there adjustable from shit threw to good, so they must be good Smile
