rear seat/belts

Fitting retractable seat belts for the rear.Thanks for any help.

You can almost see mine here, They were in the gem when i bought it, but i'm pretty sure it came with them when it was bought, its a TG. the belts go through a sort of loop thing on the pillar then down to the retractor part which is bolted through the metal parcel shelf and bolted down underneath (have to tighten it in the boot) Its an absolute bitch to make a parcel shelf around these belts, my suggestion is to put the retractable part on the pillars, also you will prolly need to get it engineered or whatever, a mod slip or something.

rear retractables were only found on Tg's, i reckon they were maybe a special order cause i have had sl's and sl'x come in with them fitted

I think the 84 and newer TG's only came with the retractable belts. I got a 1983 TG SL and theres not even holes for the belts.

And I've got a donor 83 SL/X without them...

Mine is a TG 1984, but it was the base model (TF front)

So it's the 84's that got them. Maybe that's when the ADR changed to require them. My 83 Commodore Wagon didn't have them, but all VK wagons do.
